The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is a cooperative partnership between BLM, the National Historic Trails Center Foundation, and the City of Casper. The Trails Center interprets the significant role of the area’s historic trails in the history of the United States, and seeks to promote public understanding of both America’s western Native cultures and historic westward expansion while highlighting BLM's role as active stewards of public lands.

As East Coasters, we found this museum to be really well done and informative. We spent about 2 hours here with our kids and had a great time. Lots of exhibits are interactive and kept their attention.

This is one of the best information centers I’ve ever been to. Tons of hands-on displays to help you experience what it was like to travel on one of the trails west. They had a hand cart on a treadmill so you could get a sense of how much work it would be to pull onevor a distance.

We arrived with less than an hour before closing so we had to rush through. With an 8yo we could have spent several hours exploring the exhibits. We did print out their Jr Explorer booklet before our trip so our daughter was able to finish it and be sworn in by a BLM employee to receive her pin.
