“wisconsin's best-kept secret!”
One of the best-kept secrets of southern Wisconsin, Lake Kegonsa State Park offers a variety of recreational activities set along its 3,200-acre lake. Features include oak woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. There is a swimming beach and a boat launch within 1 mile of the campground. Fishing opportunities are excellent on Lake Kegonsa, and fishing from a boat is preferred. There are hiking trails and picnic areas and local marinas have boats available to rent. All sites are fully or partially wooded.
This is the perfect image of a rustic campground. Lots of electric sites, but also rougher ones. They each have a picnic table, a fire pit, and a nice well-maintained area for tents. Low light restrooms with compost toilets and water fountains nearby, but no showers. Fantastic for families, and wheelchair friendly. Very affordable, too!
Great park for camping! Mostly vault toilets which isn’t my favorite. But we found a great site with electric right by the only flush toilets. The bathrooms are very clean and the sites are beautiful!
